Case Study: Advancing Women in Tech for a Public Transit Organization
LHH recruits the next Executive Director & Vice President of Technology.

Business Challenge
When the current Executive Director of Technology announced his retirement after 25 years of service with our client – a municipal transit company in California centered on innovation and operational performance – they needed to act quickly to find a replacement. However, with a focus on diversity, equity and inclusion, and a desire for fresh ideas, our client’s search would not be an easy one.
Given the need for diverse perspectives, the replacement would ideally come from an industry outside of transportation altogether. However, extensive tech leadership experience, especially with ERP implementation and integration, and a knack for translating business strategy into innovative technology solutions was paramount.
Knowing their requirements made the search difficult, our client sought expertise from an agency with diverse recruitment channels to reach candidates representative of the community it serves.
Solution
LHH leveraged our experience with other searches to make recommendations. As a partner to our client, and to take advantage of employer branding, LHH was added to the client’s career page, and we were able to review applicants to this page, in addition to our traditional sourcing channels. Within just one week, we submitted 5 candidates.
- The first step was to undergo a Predictive Index (PI) evaluation developed by the client CEO.
- All five candidates passed the evaluation and moved to a virtual interview with the head of talent acquisition.
- Two candidates were selected for the final step – a formal, in-person panel interview with three members of the executive leadership team.
- The final candidate was hired immediately after the panel interview, achieving outstanding time to hire for the client.
Results
- 5:1 Submittal to hire ratio
- 1.5 months’ time to hire (against a benchmark for similar roles of 4 - 8 months)
“This opportunity is not just a professional milestone but a testament to the power of diversity, equity, and inclusion in shaping a brighter future. Thank you to LHH Recruitment Solutions for their unwavering support and commitment to excellence.”
